John and I decided that although we didn't have enough time to do the Cat and Fiddle as part of a loop, we decided to just park up at the bottom and ride to the top, and the back down.  It took a little less time this time 1:02 cycling and 5 minutes resting/drinking water, but I hadn't already cycled 20 miles before I got there this time!

It was good conditions, not too hot but hot enough to make it a challenge, I got through almost all of my water just on that one climb alone, so I will need to make sure I have plenty on the C2C.

I clocked 38 Miles and hour on the way down, although I wasn't pushing it, a little under 20 minutes and I was at the bottom again.

I didn't manage to do the Cat and Fiddle last Sunday, as I was unwell, but I asked June and Paul if they minded me tagging along on Bank Holiday Monday, and the kindly agreed.

We set out and went to Alderly Edge via Parrs Wood, Cheadle, Handforth and Wilmslow then the fun began ...

We climbed up to wards Macclesfiled on a hill called the Wizard, and I actually found it quite hard going, then gentle undulations to Macclesfield and through the town.

The Cat and Fiddle did indeed take me well over and hour, about an hour and a quarter, at some points i was going only about 2-3 miles and hour, I did have to stop a few times to gather myself though...

Route and Terrain

I am really grateful to June and Paul for letting me join them and have to apologise for slowing them down.  I will definitely have to start earlier than the rest of the group on the C2C if we are to meet for lunch.  I am going to have some long days, it is definitely going to be a challenge and the sponsorship will have been worked for ...

If you haven't already please consider sponsoring us ...
