Last ride in on the old bike, it has served me well, buy I am looking forward to being a full time recumbent commuter from Tuesday onward. I found myself thinking on the way in that it seemed a bit windy today and that I will suffer less from the effects of the wind on the Fiero. I have my Radical Designs Rack Bag Medium in a nice red, looks like it should take my everyday stuff with ease. It didn't rain on the way in which was a surprise, I don't think I will be that lucky on the way home, BBC forecast is thundery showers I am taking John to London tomorrow to collect his new Dutch Bike with a NuVinci Hub and enclosed drive-train. |

When I decided to cycle to work, I wanted to make sure that I could use the the journey not only for exercise but also to rest, sounds a bit of a paradox doesn't it.I believe that a recumbent will allow me to exercise but not in a physically damaging or unsustainable way, I currently ride a conventional bike, and do occasionally get aching wrists and twinges in my back, I am hoping that all this will be at an end when I get my recumbent through the Cyclescheme. I have chosen a Nazca Fiero from Laid Back Bikes in Edinburgh, where I went for my test rides of some recumbents. |
